We spent a couple days last summer trimming out the dead and excess branches in both front trees.
This is the front (west) side of the house as we took ownership in 2015.
After a year of remodeling, the front yard took a beating; scattered piles of dirt and stone everywhere.
Note in these next couple pictures the large crane removing the last of the White's 116 year old ash, two houses down.
Lynn Bishop and his crew worked his magic safely removing the large tree without incident. The tree was rapidly deteriorating and needed to be removed for the safety of the house (and passersby).
Paul Hagemeister, like a dirt wizard, quickly reshaped our front yard and smoothed out the rough and rocky soil. He is also leveling the backyard so we can insert sod next spring.

July 2017
Using extra pieces of oolite found in the yard, we put together a pathway to the front door. The goal being to avoid having to walk through the mud when the ground is wet.
Brent Jensen fluffed up the ground with his mini excavator to make it easier to work with.
Rashel and Emeline spraying down the sand between the stones.
Don and Loretta, next store, donated the yellow bricks so we could line the stone path and sidewalk.
Devry sweeping sand into the cracks.
The finished product.
